NEWS

Hi Everyone,

I thought a bit of news for 2005 was in order, so here goes

I have been a little busy since I posted my last news page. Starting off 2004 with Melissa Etheridge inviting me to sit in with her on a few songs at the house of blues in L.A. It was the beginning of the tour for her latest album release “Lucky”(which I did some singing on). A huge thrill for me and she was fantastic, both as a person and a performer. Did some great touring with the Moody Blues throughout the year, some in the US and also Monaco and the Azores. I highly recommend being stranded in Lisbon to everyone at least once. It is a beautiful city that I don’t often hear people speak of. It’s a bit like Paris only the people seemed to be in less of a hurry. The architecture was stunning.

At the end of 'O4 I was also in Europe and in the UK with the Moodies. We finished off the year in Amsterdam. It was one of the best gigs with them ever. The Dutch fans gave us a great reception. Plus it was another gorgeous city.

Did a couple of things other than touring during the year as well. One being that I landed a gig singing the theme tune to a new Aaron Spelling show called “Summerland”, which airs in loads of countries, and secondly, at the end of 'O4 a buddy of mine CJ Vanston was producing the latest Joe Cocker album “Body and Soul”. He asked me to pop in and do some BG’s on the song “What’s Going On”, which of course I was thrilled to do. That album has just recently been released.

This year is off to a good start, did a short tourette of California with the Moody Blues in January, always a pleasure. Those guys crack me up.

Then I sang a track for a compilation album called “Women At Work”, which is a bunch of great independent female artists covering “Men At Work “songs. The album, or the individual songs, are available on Itunes.com. The song I performed is called “Down by the Sea”, a moody and mellow number, best listened to with the lights out and headphones on.

Then I went to Nashville, to go and sing on the new Bob Seger record. I hadn’t met Bob before and am happy to report he is totally cool, one heck of a happy chappy full of energy and a wonderful songwriter. It was a great experience and I do hope I get to work with him again.

Which brings us to the present; I am very lucky right now and am touring for a few months with the lovely Sarah Mclachlan. It is such a pleasure to have that voice in my monitors each night and the band is fantastic. It is a great show. Last month we were in New Zealand and Australia, and yes I fed a kangaroo and cuddled a koala. Presently we are rehearsing for the last leg of Sarah’s North American tour, which will take us through Canada and the US.

Hope to see some of you on the road.
All the best
Bernie
